Box Office Window - Day
Description:
11 a.m. -4:30 p.m.: sells tickets, answers phones, helps with miscellaneous clerical tasks from time to time. This is a customer service position.
Requirements:
Friendly attitude, training on Ludus (provided)
House Manager
Description:
Responsible for overall front of house activities during performances. This includes supervising ushers, assisting patrons as needed, opening and closing the facility and running nightly reports.
Requirements:
TRAINING REQUIRED Must be at least 21; friendly attitude is a must; familiar with scanning hardware and Theatre Lawrence emergency guidelines. Training is provided on all job functions. Attire: business casual.
Bar Lead
Description:
Responsible for setting up & closing down the bar area using the BAR LEAD CHECKLIST posted in the kitchen. Will train and assign bar volunteers as staffing requires.
Requirements:
TRAINING REQUIRED; Must be 21 or older, knowledge of bartending helpful but not required; must comply with sanitation protocol; must insure that all bar staff have completed the bar/refreshment form; Attire - all black please, no tees, shorts, or flip-flops
Box Office Seller
Description:
Handles walk-up ticket sales, checks will call ticket print list and prints any tickets purchased after printing, checks phone messages as needed
Requirements:
Strong people skills, prior knowledge of the Ludus system (this is not a train as you go position) Attire- business casual.
Box Office Will Call
Description:
Distributes will call tickets as well as checks out Loop hearing assist devices
Requirements:
Friendly attitude ; business casual.
Bar - cashier
Description:
Runs the cash register and takes bar orders as well as promotes intermission pre-order drinks; may be asked to assume other duties depending on the staffing situation -- the bar lead may rearrange the positions to accommodate staff present.
Requirements:
Must be 21 or older, bar tending skills helpful but not necessary; attire - all black to present a neat and professional appearance ; no shorts, tees, or flip flops please. Alternatively may wear Theatre Lawrence branded apparel.
Bar - bar back
Description:
Assists cashiers by fetching drinks from cooler, pouring sodas as needed, preparing specialty and mixed drinks. Will assist in clean up at end of shift. Positions may be rearranged by Bar Lead to accommodate staff present.
Requirements:
Must be 21 or older, bar tending skills helpful but not necessary; Attire - all black to present a neat and professional appearance ; no shorts, tees, or flip flops please. Alternatively may wear Theatre Lawrence branded apparel.
Usher
Description:
Supervised and trained by the House Manager, ushers will scan tickets, greet patrons, hand out programs and assist anyone who needs help. They will assist the House Manager in emergency situations as well as pickup trash in the theatre after the show.
Requirements:
Must be 13 or older, have a neat appearance & helpful attitude; must be able to stand for long periods of time and walk up and down stairs (wear comfortable shoes!); Attire should be ALL BLACK- no shorts, tee-shirts, or flip-flops please
Set construction
Description:
This is a weekday (10-4 daily) position working in the shop to build sets and prepare the theatre for productions
Requirements:
Close-toed shoes required, gloves helpful - all other PPE provided, carpentry metal working skills helpful but not required (we will train you), must have ability to go up and down stairs
Set Painting
Description:
Helps with scenic painting from basic base coating through advanced techniques
Requirements:
Closed-toes shoes, paint clothes
Props
Description:
Assist props master in pulling, shopping, and building props for a production.
Requirements:
Enjoying arts and crafts is a plus.
Costume Production
Description:
Assist with construction of new costumes, altering existing costumes, gathering costume pieces and organizing dressing rooms. Some tasks will be more related to crafting than strictly sewing.
Requirements:
Sewing skills are helpful, but a willingness to learn is welcome
Sound
Description:
Assists the sound designer in preparing for the needs of the show, including setting up the pit for musicals & preparing mics for use
Requirements:

Running Crew
Description:
Assists with general operations backstage, moving scenery, assisting actors with various scenic changes.
Requirements:
General unassisted mobility in crowded spaces. Ability to climb stairs, push rolling scenic units, carry light furniture.
Light Board Operator
Description:
Operate the light board according to the timing and instruction of the stage manager.
Requirements:
ability to climb stairs and physically operate a computer without accessibility device (the light board does not support them).
Sound - Production
Description:
Assists in fitting and removing mics on actors, sets levels of microphones during live performance or triggers sound effects to the timing and instruction of the stage manager.
Requirements:
Ability to climb stairs. Functional hearing
Props - Production
Description:
Organize and chase props backstage to ensure they are where they need to be when they need to be there.
Requirements:
general unassisted mobility in crowded spaces. A decent sense of organization.
Projection Operator
Description:
Trigger media to projectors at the timing and instruction of the stage manager.
Requirements:
Ability to climb stairs. Basic computer operation skills.
Actor
Description:
Individuals who are cast in a show will select this position. This will allows actors' hours to be entered and calculated.
Requirements:
attend scheduled rehearsals, all of tech week, and all performances.
Stage Manager
Description:
works with director and production staff during the rehearsal process to prepare the show; makes the run list, calls the show, write rehearsal & performance reports, etc..
Requirements:

Office Help
Description:
Will help with miscellaneous tasks such as mailings or other show related needs.
Requirements:

Costume Running Crew
Description:
Assists actors with hair styling, make-up and dressing. Be available during performances to help with quick changes. Assist with laundry throughout the run of the show, strike at the end of the run, laundry and restocking.
Requirements:
Availability beginning the Sunday of Tech Week for all tech rehearsals and all performances.
Hair & Makeup Crew
Description:
Works with costume designers and actors to determine the best way to utilize actors' own hair or wigs. Pull wigs/facial hair from existing stock or acquire new ones as needed. Style wigs/facial hair and instruct actors on how to wear and care for them, maintain the styles throughout the run then wash and store at the end of the run. Assist with design of specialized makeup, instruct actors on application and assist throughout the run of the show as needed.
Requirements:
Experience with or a desire to learn about hair styling; evening & show availability beginning on Sunday of Tech week.
Audition Help
Description:
Help sign in the actors auditioning and to take a picture of those that have not included one in their casting Manager Profile.
Requirements:
must be able to operate the computer, instructions will be given that evening. Camera instructions given that evening as well.
Vintage Players
Opening Night food host
Description:
This person will help serve and clean up after the complimentary food samples provided by the sponsor.
Requirements:
Wear all black, arrive at 6:30, help with set up and clean up as needed.
